Wanda "Jane" Oberlitner

She was born on April 19, 1948, in Elliott County, Kentucky to the late John M. and L. Evelyn Thornsberry Waggoner.

Jane pursued a master’s degree at Morehead State University in her younger years. She dedicated 36 ½ years of her life to teaching, retiring from Fort Knox Schools.

Jane loved her family unconditionally and cherished visiting with others, never meeting a stranger. She had a passion for decorating and enjoyed gardening, particularly nurturing spring and summer flowers.

Jane also loved traveling and was always on the go.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Johnny W. Waggoner and one brother-in-law, Jesse "Tweedy" Carroll.

Survivors include her loving husband of seven years, Larry Oberlitner; two daughters, Heather (Vince) Higdon and Sheila (Steve) Mosack; one son, John Fultz; one sister, Debbie Carroll; grandchildren, Hunter Higdon and Bryce (Annie) Atchison; and her fur baby, Dakoda.

The funeral is at 2 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

Burial follows in North Hardin Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, December 3rd and continues after 12 PM Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
