Phyllis Ann Sprague

Phyllis was a loving mother and grandmother. In her last years, she was a care taker for several of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with family. She also enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and fixing things. She enjoyed beadwork and bowling. Phyllis was a Tribe Elder for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa Chippewa Indians.

Phyllis will be greatly missed by her 4 children: Jeremy Ross Sheahan, Ryan Elliott Kahgegab, Emily Elizabeth Kahgegab, and Kaitlin Kahgegab; 8 grandchildren: Mazhaquet, Dabian, Dehmon, Leonard, Robbie, Zhaahwii, Jaycee, and Mayna Phyllis; 2 great grandchildren: Dayl’n and Darrion; siblings: Dorothy Christy, Steven Sheahan, Robert Sheahan, Gary Sheahan, Wanda Sheahan, Frank Wabanimke, Tony Johns, Linda Johns, and Tillie Johns; Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter Francisca Jo Sheahan, sister Charlotte Sheahan-Demings, and great niece Lynnova Rose Sheahan.

A visitation was held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5 to 8 pm at the Kewadin Indian Mission Church in Kewadin. A funeral will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 2 pm also at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Elk Rapids.
