Virda Lucille McGraw

Virda L. McGraw, 90, of Elk Rapids, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 16, 2011, with her loving husband of 68 years by her side. Virda was born in Woodsfield, Ohio, on June 13, 1920, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Ullman.

She and her husband, Harold owned and operated Infra Corp., of Waterford, from 1959 until their retirement in 1982.

An avid boater with a U.S. Power Squadron advanced pilot's certificate, she cruised many of the waterways across North America. Virda also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Elk Rapids Garden Club. She was also an accomplished seamstress.

Above all, Virda loved her family and friends, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Virda is survived by her husband, Harold; son, Vaughn A (Harriet), of Petoskey; sister, Elsie M. Rice, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday June 3, 2011 at 10:30 am from Calvary Lutheran Church, Elk Rapids, Rev David Mellor will officiate.
