Betty Jane Helman, age 83, of Severn, Maryland passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, November 20, 2020. Betty was born on November 14, 1937 to Katherine (neé Loris) and Frederick Loose. Beloved wife of Charles “Pete” Helman. Loving mother of Laurie Dustin and her husband Bill. Cherished grandmother of Rob Helman and his wife Allie, Amy Spence and her husband Matt, John Wood and his wife Erinn, Michael Wolper, and Lisa Scott. Devoted great-grandmother of Vincent, Brianna, Abby, Connor, and Eden. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Loose, and daughter Connie Wood.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Augustine’s Church in Elkridge, Maryland on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
With limitations made to funeral practices due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all guests are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing per current public health guidelines.
