Faye Redding, beloved daughter, friend, and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at the age of 90. Faye was born to the late Joseph and Gladys Redding and lived a life full of curiosity, joy, and meaningful connections.
Faye was an accomplished academic, earning both a Master's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Library Science. She had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and was a passionate advocate for education throughout her life. Her love of learning extended beyond the classroom and library, and she was an avid reader, often immersing herself in books on a wide range of topics.
Travel was another great love of Faye’s, and she cherished exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. Whether it was a weekend road trip or an international adventure, Faye’s sense of wonder and excitement made every journey memorable.
Faye was also a devoted fan of both baseball and football. She found joy in the rhythms of the games, the strategy, and the camaraderie of fellow fans. Her spirited discussions about sports were often a highlight of any conversation, and she could always be counted on for a witty comment or insightful observation.
In addition to her passions for reading, travel, and sports, Faye had a deep affection for animals, particularly cats and dogs. She also had a keen interest in politics, always staying informed and engaged with the issues of the day. Her sharp wit and great sense of humor made her a delightful companion to all who knew her.
A testament to Faye's enduring friendships, she shared a lifelong bond with Virginia Raveio. The two met when Faye was just five years old and Virginia was seven, forming a friendship that lasted through the years, providing love and support in all the seasons of life.
Faye’s warmth, intelligence, humor, and loyalty will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and the joy of learning.
