Our hearts and love are with you at this difficult time.  Pete was a mentor in many ways.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

My heart goes out to you all at this time. I just learned of the passing of your precious Fred. We are thankful to god for the gift of memories, where we can close our eyes and remember Fred just as he was, healthy and happy. When someone we love dies, it leaves an empty spot in our hearts which could never be filled by any other person. Soon, in a new world of god's making, all pain, suffering and sickness will be gone forever. Until then, I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Pa as I called him was an amazing grandfather. I will always remember him and my grandmother (Gam'am to me) would watch me and my brother every morning and afternoon while my parents were at work. We would watch cartoons and just laugh at cartoons like Tom and Jerry, and Bugs Bunny. In the summer he would drive us to camp and pick us up. He always had candy anytime we wanted it, in one of his coat pockets. He would help me with projects in school when I had no idea what to do. He would go out of his way to help me and my brother. He will truly be missed. Love your grandson Phillip. Love you Pa

I only knew Mr. Peters through Kathi but I remember the very first time I met him, I didn't feel like a stranger. Everytime I met him, he had a smile on his face. I hope his family and friends get some peace from knowing he's no longer in pain and he's watching and smiling down on them everyday. It's raining today and as I think of him and Kathi and the rest of the family, I have this song running through my head: 
"there's holes in the floor of Heaven,
And his tears are pouring down.
...
There's holes in the floor of Heaven
And he's watching over you and me"

Pa, you helped me grow up from a little boy into a young gentlemen. Without you, I would not know how to use half the power tools I play with at home, and I probably would have ended up in "time out" twice as often if you hadn't whipped me into shape. You have always been just two houses away when ever I needed you. I will always miss you.

Our deepest and most sincere condolences on the loss of your husband,father and grandfather.  He was a wonderful neighbor and will be greatly missed.

While I never met Mr. Peters personally, I know he was a wonderful man just from the way his daughter, Kathi, spoke of him. I know that he is in a better place and is looking down on his family and smiling. 

I know they will find comfort in his memory and in keeping his spirit alive.

Dad, we will miss you every day and think of you all the time.  Holidays won't be the same without you but we will find a way to move on. We are relieved that you are at peace and watching over us and are counting on you to take care of us every day. 
We love you and will keep you with us in our hearts.
