On Sunday, August 30, 2020, Gerhard "Gerry" Carl Bethman, ret. US Army, Sgt. Maj. of Severn, MD passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Michiko "Maya" Bethman, loving father of Linda M. Bethman and her husband Michael Stoehr and Richard C. Bethman. Grandfather of Lydia and Dean Stoehr; several nieces and nephews and brother of the late Helga Bethman.
All Services will be held at a later date privately. Mr. Bethman will receive full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the ASPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403. Arrangements were handled by the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., Elkridge, MD.
