

Hans Joseph Reichnach, 88, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. Born on November 26, 1935, in Croatia, to Josef and Paula Reichnach, he was the beloved husband of Linda S. Reichnach for 47 cherished years. He is survived by his loving children, Johnny V. Reichnach, Jimmy J. Reichnach and wife Lisa, and Erika “Mitzi” M. Glodek, as well as his cherished grandchildren Jaime, Jimmy Jr., Mason, Jake, and Ryan, and his precious grand-dog, Finnegan.
Hans had a passion for capturing the beauty of wildlife, flowers, and nature through photography. He found solace in frequent visits to Chincoteague and Assateague Island, and Blackwater. Fishing, crabbing, and boating were among his favorite pastimes, often accompanied by the pleasure of enjoying crabs with a Shaefer or Natty Boh beer. He was an active member of the Baltimore Rod and Gun Club. He loved the thrill of treasure hunting at flea markets and found peace in birdwatching. Hans also served proudly in the Civil Air Patrol and had a passion for collecting German steins.
Hans cherished music deeply, especially Polka, German, and Classical tunes, with a fondness for André Rieu's melodies. He delighted many with his accordion performances in the Baysiders band. In his youth, he relished golfing and was a Rolling Road Golf Club member. As President of the Rotary Club of Elkridge, he dedicated himself to service. Additionally, Hans found great joy in wood carving.
Hans Joseph Reichnach will be remembered for his zest for life, his love for his family, and his unwavering passion for the simple joys found in nature, music, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew him.
A Memorial Service for Hans will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at MMP, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075.
