On Monday September 2, 2013 at 7:15pm Helen Della Shaffer, age 82, of Laurel, MD, passed away at Laurel Regional Hospital. Born in Turner Douglas, WV, February 12, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lula Wilson. She was preceeded in death by her two brothers Galen Wilson, Samuel Junior Wilson, sister MaryAnn Hess, former husband John Shaffer, son Paul Shaffer and great grandson Nathan Colohan. She is survived by her sister Betty Stemple and husband Nick, Wanda Norman, son Roger Shaffer and his wife Sandi, son David Shaffer and his wife Susan, daughter Charlotte Digges and her husband Larry, daughter-in-law Deborah Shaffer-Surber, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Laurel. She was an aid for many years for the Howard County Special Needs School Transport. She was greatly loved by her family and friends.
