James "Butch" Howard Grimes, age 82, of Jessup, Maryland passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023 surrounded by his family. James was born in Maryland on January 6, 1941 to his parents, the late Norman and Helen Grimes.
James (Butch) H. Grimes, a retired Union construction worker. He enjoyed playing cards, horse racing and going to the slots.
Beloved husband to Shirley J. Grimes of 59 years. Predeceased by his son Michael (Lillian) Martin. Survived by his daughter Tammy (Dwain) Usery. Cherished grandfather of Brooke (Sherry), JD (Shannon), Tiffany (fiancé Thomas), Dwain Jr. Cherished great- grandfather of Jorden, Braden, Makynzie and Zoe. 1 late brother, 4 surviving brothers and 3 surviving sisters. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10:30am. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
