James Lash

On May 9, 2011, JAMES OTIS LASH, beloved husband of Valerie Lash; devoted step-father of Briana Costantini; father of Carol Chaffman and her partner Eddie Zbignewich of New Windsor, MD; grandfather of Matthew Rabette and his fiancé Kara McHargue, great-grandfather of Cameron Rabette, Taylor Rabette and Riley Anthony; grandfather of Michael Rabette and his fiancé Courtney LeQuire; father of James Lash, Jr. and his wife Loretta of Taneytown, MD; grandfather of James Lash III and Kristin Lash; great-grandfather of Keyera Gillies; grandfather of Andrew and William Lash; father of Betty Humphreys and her husband Jim of Forest Hill, MD; step-grandfather of Jamie, Matthew and Hanna Humphreys; Also survived by his first wife Betty Lou Harp and her husband Jerry of Glen Burnie, MD. Jim was retired and worked as an engineer and facilities director at Howard Community College, Howard County General and Bon Secours Hospitals. He also owned and operated a number of pubs and restaurants over the years. He served honorably for six years in the US Army in the 101th Airborne. Jim enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing, as well as his beloved dog Muggsy.

A Celebration of Jim's life will be celebrated in the Studio Theatre of the Horowitz Center at Howard Community College on June 3, 2011 at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Howard Community College Educational Foundation, The Jim and Valerie Lash/Rep Stage Scholarship Fund, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MD 21044.
