Janet graduated from Northwestern High School in 1976, then earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from The University of Maryland in 1980. She married her beloved Michael Furrow in 1981. Together they had one child. Janet was a devoted wife and mother who loved hosting family get to gathers and always had a smile for everyone.
She is survived by her husband Michael and her son Van and her loving mother Myrtle Barker. She is also survived by sister Beth (Dave) Hughmanick, 9 nieces and nephews, 6 great-nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to mention.
A memorial service will be scheduled at an appropriate time in the future.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Heart Association.
