John "Johnny" Warren Merson IV, age 23, of Elkridge, Maryland passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Loving Fiancé to Erin Hassan, and their dog, Willow; Beloved Son of Heather (nee Uhlhorn) and John Merson, III; Cherished Brother to Courtney McPhillips (her husband Terence) and Becky Merson; Adored Grandson of Judy Merson, predeceased by John Warren Merson, Jr., and Frank and Angela Uhlhorn; Dear Nephew of Julie Merson, Teresa and Steve D'Anna, Christine Uhlhorn, and Timothy Uhlhorn; Treasured by several cousins and friends.
Johnny was very hardworking and intelligent, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and worked for Morgan Stanley. His kindness, care, and compassion was extensive and touched the lives of his family and friends. Johnny was an avid Baltimore sportsfan, cheering on the Ravens, Orioles, and Maryland Terps.
Johnny was an adventurer and had a deep love for traveling; some of the favorite places he visited were Utah, Hawaii, Cypress, and California. He greatly enjoyed various outdoor activities, hiking, and sunset views. He played basketball and baseball, but was especially passionate about skateboarding.
A visitation for Johnny will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow.
