June Iris Henson

On Thursday, July 26th, 2018, June Iris Henson (84), of Boonsboro, MD passed away. Beloved wife of Nervin Henson. Loving mother of Daniel Henson and Pamela Henson. June has been married to Sonny Henson for 62 years. They are both retired; she worked for Westinghouse for 6 years; then for Drug Store for 4 years. They have two children Pamela, Laurel, MD and Daniel Neal, Gambrills, MD, both have their own homes. They lived in Hanover, MD 1956-88; moved to Hagerstown in 1990 after one year in W. VA. They traveled to Main, FL & W. VA, she likes to do handwork, wash clothes (seriously) and keep house. They have had a summer house in W. VA. Since 1970 & have spent a lot of time on the Potomac River. She learned to water ski at age 36, after falling all over the Potomac and finally getting the hang of it. Sonny is an excellent handyman and has done lots of work on the summerhouse. He has recovered from two heart attacks and cancer and doing well. June also does volunteer work for the church.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 (exit 6 off Rt. 100 south) on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Where a “Celebration of Life” Service will be held on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Interment, Meadowridge memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
