Bill and Ruth-No words could possibly describe the sorrow I feel for you.  The short time I had spent with Evan was some of the best.  You raised a truly good man and you should be proud of that. Evan is in a better place, looking over all of us.  Love and peace to you every day.

I am so sorry for your loss...Evan was a great man. We listened to Fleetwood Mac in his truck in high school and he often talked about how much he loved his parents and working on the bmw with his dad. Words cannot express how heartbroken I am for all of you.

My favorite photo is of Nate returning home after visits to the farm and my house and being greeted joyously by Evan, standing on tiptoe to hug him. I found a picture of Evan petting one of those calves on his Grandpa's farm. It gives me comfort to look through pictures and see his joy of living and his kindness to creatures and people. I hope all of us will honor his memory by remembering Nathan's tribute to him and extending no-strings-attached kindness to everyone we meet as he did.

We never had the pleasure of meeting your Evan, but knowing Bill- he had to be a remarkable man. What an honor you had to parent him! Much love and prayers.

As Evan's grandfather, I have many things to remember. As a little boy, his main concern about the farm was "grandpa's" blue tractor that he wanted to be clean and shining.  Later he was careful to name the baby calves.  His departure has left an emptiness in our heart that only God can fill with His love and precious memories.

Evan gave me a tour of Morgan county, WV, cornfields and orchards, when
he was about nine years old. He was riding his knobby tired dirt bike, giving hand signals to warn me when he
stopped. He had ridden from Maryland
on the back of my motorcycle earlier
that day. We were finding out my 500+ 
pound bike wasn't the best on mud, grass, and gravel. A fun day. Miss you
always, Evan.

What I did with my sadness today, was to turn to my fiancee and tell her everything I remember about my upbringing with your family. Nathan and I were good friends. I told her that we used to have sleep overs at your house. Ruth and Bill were amazingly kind and generous and fun parents to be around. Nathan and I were only concerned with things like Fishing and outdoor stuff. Evan would tag along, I remember his smile. He was such a happy child. I remember Ruth's, chocolate chip cookies, seriously the worlds best. I remember Bill hooking Nathan's school dioramas up with electricity so they were better than everyone else's in the class. What I did with my sadness was draw my fiancee a picture of the love your family had; the warmth of your household. We spoke of being mindful and aware of the good things around us and to caution ourselves not to get wrapped up in stressors, frustrations, and annoyances of life. Using this tragedy as a reminder of how lives should be lived and what should be focused on. I send your family my deepest condolences and wish that I could take even a small amount of your pain away.

Thanks for being so great to my family Evan. We love you.

I remember the first time I met Evan. He came to dinner with my sister, EJ, myself and my mother. We were messing with my mom and all joking around and we questioned Evan if this behavior was normal to him. He reassured us that his brother Nate and himself had similar antics at their dinner table. He was so much fun and joined in with every family dinner laughing, smiling and adding so much light, laughter and love. He will be missed dearly. I have never met such a gorgeous, fun, intelligent, positive, peaceful "manly man" that loves all things fishing, hunting, cars, sports that was also such a gentle soul. Bill, Ruth, Nate, Alison and to the many, many other friends and family, you are in my prayers.

So sorry for your loss. All of you are in our thoughts. I had moved to Florida for about 7 years and when I moved back and saw Evan for the first time it was as if no time had passed. He will be missed.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

Evan was a great man and friend all around. He never said no when lending a helping hand and never asked for anything in return. My favorite memory of him was when we were all at Finneys house watching football and before I had his number he sat there texting me trash talking the Steelers that he hated but I loved. I was getting so mad because I had no idea who was sending me these messages and never realized he was sitting there laughing historically as I got more mad. Then the next day he texted me and said "Hey man its Evan what are you doing?" It was then I realized what was going on and started laughing at the whole thing.  I will truly miss his big bright smile and the Friday safety meetings will never be the same without you. Love you Evan and my thoughts and prayers are with Bill & Ruth and family.
