Richard Vincent Betro

Richard "Rich" Vincent Betro, age 76, of Selbyville, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. He was the beloved husband of his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Betro (nee Scott); loving father of Donna Myers and her husband Scott, Darrick Betro, and Vincent Betro; dear brother of Theresa Kane and her husband Larry; and Franny Zappacosta. Cherished Pop Pop to Zachary Myers, Tori Myers, Dylan Myers, and Brady Myers. Richard will be missed by Gabby, his beloved Shih-Tzu, who was always by his side. He is the son of the late, Marion Betro and Bud Betro, and Step-Mother Carole Betro; the twin brother of the late Wayne Betro. Richard leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In his lifetime, Rich was an electrician by trade. He served in the United States Navy from 1967-1972. Richard was on active duty in Vietnam from 1968-1969. For 21 years he taught electrical at ABC Apprenticeship. Richard retired, at the age of 70, from St. Agnes Hospital after 21 years of employment. Even when he wasn't working, he was always there to lend a hand - if you called him, he was there to help. Rich loved to spend time with his family, especially going on cruises with his wife, Linda, and traveling. He spent many days down the ocean, driving his '72 El Camino, "Cruisin' the Boards" in Ocean City, and Lake Patrol in their neighborhood.

A visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. Burial to follow on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 2805 Rogers Avenue, Ellicott City, MD 21043.

Following the funeral service and burial, a gathering will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Arbutus Community Association (Town Hall) located at 1349 Stevens Avenue, Halethorpe, MD 21227.
