Richard Clarence Joseph Swartz, 94, passed away on April 13, 2026. Born on July 30, 1931, Richard lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his career.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Richard served his country with honor. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career in banking, rising to the role of Vice President through years of commitment, professionalism, and integrity.
Richard had a deep love for sports, particularly golf and tennis. His passion for tennis extended beyond recreation, as he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with others while serving as a tennis coach at Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland.
He is survived by his daughters, Carol Kozora, Sheri Stewart, Mary Ryan Hirsch, Bobby Ryan Spicer, Jo Nell Ryan, and Patricia Oldham; and his sons, Jack Ryan, Leo Ryan, and Jimmy Ryan. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ryan, and his son, Richard Swartz.
Richard will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to family, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
A private service will be held by the family.
