

Roy "Kenny" Kenneth Reed, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Alabama on September 15, 1932, he was the son of the late Leroy and Fannie Reed.
Kenny was the beloved husband of the late Dolores F. Reed and a devoted father to Steven K. Reed, Allan R. Reed (Michelle A.), and Dorothy J. Spilker (Michael S.). He was a cherished grandfather to Brock Spilker (Marlo), Holland Millham (Sean), and Allana Jackson (Brandon), and a proud great-grandfather to Reed Jackson, Arliss Spilker, Holly Jackson, Hadley Millham, Nolan Millham, Thea Spilker, and Mae Millham. He was preceded in death by his siblings Jean, Colleen, Linda, Patsy, and Wayne.
A skilled union carpenter, Kenny was highly respected for his leadership in the construction and operations of the Fort McHenry Tunnel. Even after retiring, he continued to share his passion for building, working alongside his son Steve in the family business, Quality Improvements.
Kenny lived a full and vibrant life, finding joy in the simple pleasures. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, crabbing, fishing, and tending to his vegetable garden. A competitive spirit, he spent many years on bowling leagues. Kenny also loved old country music, horse racing, and cheering on his favorite teams, the Ravens and the Orioles. He was an animal lover and considered his dogs to be his constant companions and best friends. He also enjoyed time by the water, especially relaxing on the beaches of Chincoteague and Ocean City, Maryland.
Kenny will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his incredible craftsmanship, his competitive spirit, and the simple joys that made his life so meaningful.
