Sang Soo Lee was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world suddenly on September 4, 2021, at the age of 79 due to cancer. Despite the pain caused by his illness, his only concern was for his loving wife’s well-being.
He was born to Lee, Sok Yong (father) from the Chonju Lee family and Baik, Am Sun (mother) from the Sunwon Baik family on January 27, 1942. Mr. Lee filled his younger years with his passion for Judo, spending all hours of his day training at the Dojo. In 1962, he earned his respected and admired third-degree black belt.
On October 2, 1971, he married the love of his life, So Jong Lee. Together, they had 2 children: Linda and Laurie.
Mr. Lee was an accomplished fisherman. The anticipation of an upcoming fishing trip could be compared to a child on Christmas Eve. The joy that the shore gave him is indescribable.
In addition to his wife of 50 years and children, Mr. Lee is survived by four grandchildren.
Mr. Lee will be honored with a Korean spoken mass on Tuesday, September 14, at 10 AM at Holy Korean Martyrs Catholic Church, 5801 Security Blvd., Baltimore, Maryland 21207. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 20, at 12:15 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100), followed by a reception of Korean barbecue.
