Wendy Ann Burnopp, age 62, of Severn, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. She was born on February 18, 1963, in Maryland to the late Bynum Howell Burnopp and Irene Catherine Burnopp (née Wallace).
Wendy shared 39 loving years with her partner, Don Smith. She was the beloved sister of the late Richard Burnopp and is survived by an estranged half-brother. She also leaves behind her cherished black lab, Velma, and her lifelong friend, more like a sister, Lois Ruark.
Wendy had a deep love for her hometown teams, proudly cheering on the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was an avid collector of Boyds Bears and German Steiff bears. Wendy had a knack for finding four-leaf clovers and found joy in life’s little moments.
Her taste in entertainment was timeless. She loved classic country and oldies music, especially Conway Twitty and George Strait. She was a fan of British television, with favorites like Father Brown, Doc Martin, and Mr. Bean. She also enjoyed outings to Toby’s Dinner Theatre, with her last show being The Jersey Boys. Her favorite film was It’s a Wonderful Life, which reflected her own gentle, heartfelt nature.
Wendy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
