Willa Mae Heiser

Willa Mae Heiser, aged 96, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Born on March 3, 1927, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of Augustus and Rosalie (nee Stout) Tolley. Willa was predeceased by her beloved parents, her two husbands, David Graham Richardson and David J. Heiser, and her seven siblings, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and history.

Willa is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda Waters (husband Thomas); her cherished grandchildren, Thomas I. Waters, III (Wife Laura) and Laura E. Class (Husband Matthew); and her dear great-grandchildren, NIcholas R. Custodio, Natalie P. Uhlman (Husband Jesse), Kerri A. Waters, and Thomas I. Waters, IV. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.

Throughout her life, Willa embodied the essence of devotion. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her capacity for love and care knew no bounds, and she extended her warmth to everyone she encountered. Willa had a passion for preserving family history, writing down stories and memories. She authored a book of those stories titled "Memories" that will be cherished by her family for generations to come. Additionally, she was an exceptional cook, her recipes and meals bringing comfort and joy to her family and friends.

Willa's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and history. Her legacy will live on through the stories she told, the meals she prepared and the love she shared. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the impact she made on those around her.

A private family service honoring Willa's life will be held at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home in Elkridge, Maryland on February 17, 2024 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Willa can be made to Grane Hospice Care 1200 Camp Hill Bypass, Suite 205, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania 17011.
