Ingrid Renaud went to meet her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2016 after a long illness. Ingrid was born in Massachusetts and spent the majority of her full and adventurous life there, living many happy years in her dream home on Cape Cod with her late husband Richard and their dogs.
As a lifelong nurse, Ingrid dedicated her life to service and kindness, with a particular soft spot for people living with addiction and mental illness. She was known for her resilience, open heart and quick mind. Music was a vital part of her life, and if she wasn’t singing or playing the piano, she could be heard blasting Linda Ronstadt in the car.
In earlier years she enjoyed car travel, cross-stitch and long bike rides. In her later years she turned her energies toward studying the Bible and reading a colossal number of books.
As a devout Christian, Ingrid’s relationship with the members of her church was deep and profound. After moving to Ellensburg in 2011 to be closer to family, she forged strong friendships with several members of Calvary Baptist Church. One friend in particular, Shirley, was an unwavering source of strength and support during Ingrid’s last years.
Ingrid is survived by her sister Johanna; her nieces Robin (Scott) and Karen; and her great-niece and -nephew Maya and Jordan. Her easy laugh and generous heart will be deeply missed by them all.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in early February.
