It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward (Eddie) Brady, a loving husband, devoted friend, and respected member of the community. Eddie passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 17, 1935, in South Boston and raised by his grandparents, where his journey of resilience and independence began.
Throughout his life, Eddie faced challenges with strength and a self-reliant spirit. His adventurous nature led him to move around often, forming lasting relationships along the way. In the fall of 1979, he married the love of his life, Margaret (Peggy). Together, they built a life full of love and happiness. The couple purchased a home in Brockton, Massachusetts, where they lived until their retirement to Palmetto, Florida.
Eddie’s service to his country during the Korean War as a member of the Army for two years was a chapter of his life he held with pride. He later became an active member of his community, serving in various roles, including President of the Rockland Eagles Club. Eddie’s kindness, genuine spirit, and sense of humor made him beloved by those who knew him. He will be remembered as a man with a tremendous memory, an easy-going personality, and a heart full of warmth.
An avid sports fan and passionate golfer, Eddie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love for adventure led him to travel far and wide, with memorable trips such as cruising down the Rhine River, exploring the scenic beauty of Italy, and touring the rich history of Ireland. Eddie made friends wherever he went, and his connections were always meaningful.
For 45 years, Eddie was a wonderful and devoted husband to Peggy. Together, they created a life of happiness, and their bond will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.
Eddie will be remembered by friends and family alike as a good soul, always ready to lend a helping hand and share his infectious joy for life. His presence will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will endure.
Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy, and a sister, Mildred Deamicis, as well as numerous friends and loved ones who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 11:30 AM at Saint Frances X Cabrini Church, 12001 69th St. E, Parrish, FL. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL
