Fred Wallace Smith Sr.

After High School, Fred attended Manatee Junior College where he earned his Associates of Science degree. Fred enlisted in the US Army in 1966, he served his Country for 3 years as a Construction Surveyor in Vietnam. Upon returning from Vietnam, Fred met the love of his life Molly “Kay” they married on June 19th, 1971, they were married 49 years and had a son Fred “Wally” Smith Jr.

Fred was a member of Trinity Baptist Church Bradenton, FL for over 40 years. He will be remembered for serving the Church as an Usher, his willingness to help with property maintenance and his love of the Lord.

Fred will be lovingly remembered by his son Wally Smith and his wife Carrie of Ellenton, FL. Their four children; Victoria Denson (Roth) Tallahassee, Alexandra Smith Englewood, Abbigail Smith Ellenton and Jacob Smith Ellenton, FL. As well as two Great Grandchildren; Adalynn Rodriguez and Alex Denson.

Fred also leaves behind a brother, Robert Smith (Mary) Afton, TN and his sister Carol Pooley Bradenton, FL. Along with several nieces and nephews and his longtime friend Sharon Lathinghouse.

Fred is predeceased by Molly K Smith (wife), David B Smith (father) Charles Smith (brother) and Winfred Smith (mother)

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday March 18th at 10:30 am at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park located at 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222
