He was born on February 11, 1938 in Bradenton, Florida to Dewey Tolar and Annie “Doris” Stewart Rowland. In his younger years, Jack attended Manatee High School. He owned and operated his own HVAC company in the area before moving to Wyoming and becoming a successful building contractor. Nothing made him happier than traveling with his wife, Ada, around the country in their RV, fishing, riding horses, working with his hands, and most importantly spending time with his family.
Jack was very proud of all of his many accomplishments in life including building hundreds of houses. When he retired from construction he and Ada obtained the nearly 6,000 acre Bitter Creek Ranch in Recluse, Wyoming, where they called home until returning to Florida.
Loved, respected, and admired by everyone he met, Jack was a man who loved helping others. He made everyone around him happier and better just by knowing him. He loved his family very much; and, when asked, said he had no bucket list and no regrets in life.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, step father Charles Stewart, mother and father in law Wilson and Linnie Lingo, his brother and sister in law James (Betty) Tolar, and son Bruce Harrell.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 48 years Ada Tolar; his siblings Christine Rogers, Ralph (Barbara) Tolar, Fay Johns, Fred (Janet) Tolar, David (Jackie) Stewart, and Dianne Stewart; his children Lynda (Pete) Nickols, Brenda (Jackie) Barrineau, Mike (Kim) Harrell, Randy (Marlene) Harrell, Chad Tolar, and daughter-in-law Susan Harrell; brother-in-law Larry (Patti) Lingo; his grandchildren Jimmy (Michaela) Harrell, Taylor (Danielle) Harrell, Shelby (Jeremy) Todd ,Blake (Kayla) Harrell, Lane Harrell, and Teagan Nickols; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, great grandchildren and many close friends.
