

Judith Ann McNaughton, 78, died on January 15th, 2026 in Bradenton, FL. She was born in Westville, New Jersey on April 18th, 1947, to Joyce Naan Fortiner of Manchester, England, and Louis Fortiner, of Westville, New Jersey. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Albert McNaughton Jr., parents, and her sister, Jacki Fortiner.
Judi is survived by her two children: Joseph Albert McNaughton III “Joe” (Julie) of Palmetto and Jeffrey Alan McNaughton “Jeff” (Chrissy) of Knoxville, Tennessee. She also leaves three grandchildren: Jay McNaughton, Ella McNaughton, and Wyatt McNaughton. She adored her nephew Dennis Sims Jr. (Brandy) and great nieces Sabrina and Payton, of Sewell, New Jersey, and provided guidance that shaped him, Joe, and Jeff into the men they are today.
Judi graduated in 1965 from Woodbury High School, where she was an outstanding athlete excelling in basketball and field hockey. She attended Lankenau Hospital for nursing. She worked as a nurse at West Jersey Hospital, Manatee Eye Clinic, Gulf Coast Surgical Center, and Bradenton Surgery Center.
Judi was a member of the Union Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary in Westville. She spent many nights working bingo and mornings making hoagies to raise money for the fire company.
Judi enjoyed bowling and was the treasurer for many leagues in Bradenton, where her dedication and cheerful spirit made her a beloved member of the league. She also loved to travel, especially cruising on Royal Caribbean with her husband, creating cherished memories together on the open seas.
Judi was an excellent cook who delighted in preparing holiday feasts for family and friends, making every gathering special with her warmth and culinary skill. Above all, she treasured the accomplishments of her sons, grandchildren, nephew, and their families, taking immense pride in their successes and celebrating their milestones with love and joy.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 26th at 9:30 am, followed by the service at 10:30 am at the Groover Funeral Home on Ellenton-Gillette Road in Ellenton. The Rev. Dr. Chris Schmidt of Parrish United Methodist Church will officiate. A graveside service will follow.
