She is survived by her loving children; James Streit and wife Eleanor Stevens, William Streit and wife Maureen Donohue, Daniel Streit and wife Patricia Stevens, and daughters Phyllis Streit (nee Knudsen) and partner Michael Sulik, and Diane (Dino) Martino, as well as 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Phyllis was a member of the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Villas, NJ and was on the church council. After moving to FL, she continued to attend service virtually. She was also integral in building businesses with her husband Harry; Walker Diving Contractors and W.H. Streit, Inc., from 1973 until 1988, when she retired to babysit her grandchildren. After retiring from work she also enjoyed taking self-improvement courses like swimming and learning German, and many craft classes from stenciling, calligraphy, ceramics, making jewelry, woodwork, needlepoint, crocheting, sewing, and basket-weaving. She was accomplished in everything she tried. The most important accomplishment in her life however was her family. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. She and Harry traveled the United States by RV, settling for a while in Tucson, AZ, and traveled throughout the world but home was where her heart was. She lived a full life with the family she loved.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in New Jersey for distant friends and family.
