

William J "Bill" Sullivan, 80, of Bradenton, FL passed away April 14, 2014 after enduring many years with a debilitating neurological disease called SCA1. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 2, 1933 and is predeceased by parents Joseph R. Sullivan and Katherine E. Sobush, brother Robert J Sullivan, and sisters, Joan Liddle and Dorothy Gutschow. Bill was a veteran serving in the Air Force during the Korean conflict from 1951-1955, where he met his future wife of 57 years, Shirley A Wang. Bill’s work career spanned 44 years starting with Allis-Chalmers in Milwaukee, WI. While raising his children in Greendale, WI, Bill attended Marquette University and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1972. In 1984 he was transferred to Ellenton, FL where he worked for Siemens Power Corporation until retirement in 1995. In addition to traveling for work, recreation, and family, his interests included tennis, golf, and a love of music and song. Over the years, Bill was involved in many chorale groups from Ss. Peter & Paul choirs, Key Chorale, Anna Marie Island Community Orchestra & Chorus, and numerous other community and church choral groups. In addition to his wife, Shirley, Bill is survived by daughter, Jo (Ted) Miller of Grand Junction, CO, son, Dan (Heidi) of Naperville, IL, daughter Maureen (Mark) Andrizzi of Marietta, GA, six grandchildren, Nick, JP, Keri, Rachel, Danny, and Natalie, two step grandsons, Brenden and Bradley, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st from 5:00–7:00 PM at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park at 1400 36th Avenue East in Ellenton, FL and funeral will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at 2850 75th St West, Bradenton, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Ss.
