Born August 26, 1947, and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, George was one of four children. From the beginning, he carried forward a steady devotion to family and a deep respect for the work of one’s hands—values that remained evident throughout his life.
George devoted his working life to the craft of machining, spending many years in the aerospace industry. Hard-working and highly capable, he was known for the satisfaction he found in solving problems with precision and care. His passion for mechanical things ran deep, and he was never more content than when he was fixing something—whether under the hood or taking on projects around the house.
In May of 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, George married the love of his life, Janet. Together they built a life rooted in commitment and shared purpose. He was a beloved father to two children, Amy Ann Hagedorn and John Walter Hagedorn, and a proud grandfather to Audrianna Hagedorn, Ethan Hagedorn, and Nicholas Hagedorn.
A devoted muscle car enthusiast—especially fond of MOPAR vehicles—George spent many years building and rebuilding engines. He cherished attending major racing events, particularly Nascar and NHRA Drag Racing, and for decades he shared those experiences with his family, creating memories marked by time together and the unmistakable joy he found in the roar of an engine and the rhythm of the track.
George is survived by his daughter, Amy, and his son, John; his three grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Lederer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Hagedorn; his brother, Roy Hagedorn; his brother, Mark Hagedorn; and his parents, Roy and Anne Hagedorn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Home, 9775 N. Salmonson Rd., Maricopa, AZ 85139, on May 30, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
