She was so very kind every time I saw her at a Martin family function. I was so drawn to her sweet welcoming soul. Roger I’m thinking of you. She was so lovely and I’m blessed to have known her if even just for a couple of years. Much love. Miss you all.

I am so sad to hear that Deirdre passed away and have tears in my eyes as I am writing this message. I had no idea she is gone and just recommended a case be sent to her for review and expert opinion. I am so very sorry for your loss and my loss of a friend I knew would always be there should I need her.

In the decades I have known Deirdre, she was kind, caring, smart, classy, gorgeous and so much fun! Deirdre had only good things to say about people and particularly her family. I've enjoyed looking at all of the family photos and comments she made on Facebook regarding her life and loved ones and seeing how happy she is in the photos.

I am very sad to know I have lost a dear friend who in all the years I have known her has always been in my heart and thoughts. My heart and prayers go out to Roger and Deidre's family and friends.

I am writing on behalf of myself Francie Golden Bussing, and my sister Eileen Golden McHugh, who both grew up with Deidre (Dee Dee), and loved her. To describe her I would say that she lit up every room she walked into with her vivacious personality, creativity and beauty. Our family simply adored and appreciated her.

I am so delighted that Eileen and I, and my daughter Kyra, made a trip to California two years ago expressly to visit our dear friends, the Sims family. I was traveling from my home in Florida, while Eileen flew from the Philadelphia area. What a timely visit with special memories we will never forget. I can still picture Deidre greeting us with her beautiful smile and laugh. I can hear her welcoming, warm, and kind words. She remained a life-time true friend. She had a gift of encouragement to the people around her. What a beautiful person. What a successful life. She made a difference.

Deirdre was an easy person to get to know, to like, and to love.. I knew of her for a long time. But didn’t know her long enough . We got to spend a day riding horses, This is where I found out she loved horses and I could see they loved her back. She was so happy and thankful for the day. Such a kind spirt! I will miss everything I know about her and her kind, and loving soul..🙏

I am so sorry to hear about Dee passing. I remember the horse paddock in the back yard of Grumman ave and how we would ride up to Gallagher's estate. I loved hanging out with my friend Dedora as I called her then. I am so sad that I won't have the opportunity to go west and see my old friend again. Makes me realize how important each day is and waiting isn't always the best choice. Sending my condolences to the rest of the Sims family.💕

Deirdre – thank you for 60 wonderful years of friendship, guidance and the love shared between Brother and Sister. You were a bright light in my life; our memories will be with me forever. I’m so grateful for the past 5 years, and especially the last 6 months where you never took life for granted and reached out to spend time with those that you loved. Your time was your precious gift; I miss you so much.

In 2005, I was still a somewhat new military wife trying to get the hang of married life and deployments when I met Deirdre. I applied for a job as her assistant... my first job following a cross-country move to California. Little did I know that would be the start of a lifelong friendship. We soon discovered we shared the same birthday and love for horses. For 6 years, I continued to work with her off and on as my own career path began to take shape. Following my time with her, she still encouraged me every step of the way (at times asking me to come back because I made her life easier... hehe) and made her mark on my life as a dear friend.

For the better part of the last two years, we had been promising one another we would "do lunch" soon... yet we never did. Something I will always regret.

D made an impact on my life in more ways than one; and I will always remember her infectious smile and the years of memories we had together as colleagues and, most of all, as trusted friends.

I am a local family law attorney and have known Deirdre for years as she has provided her services as a Vocational Evaluator and referred clients to me or my firm over the years. In the last couple of years I have seen her on a regular basis because our offices are in the same Executive Suites here in Carlsbad. Deidre was a pillar of strength and courage having recovered from brain damage suffered after falling from a horse. Nothing could keep her down. I had lunch with her a few days before her birthday and she was so happy and enjoying her life. I know that I and so many others will miss her cheerful smile as well as the expertise that she provided to the North County Family Law Bar over the years. Rest in peace my dear friend. You will be missed.
