Aunt Janice as I called her, was my Mother's (Nona Johnson) younger sister. As I was growing up in southern California we lived 5 doors down the street from Aunt Janice. I spent many days at her house watching color TV, (first in the neighborhood) and swimming in the pool.

In 1966, we moved to Texas and over the years would only see our family in California occasionally. In 2004, my mother passed away unexpectedly and Aunt Janice and Uncle Norman spent a couple weeks with my father (Archie) and the rest of the family providing comfort, and sharing memories of the past. Before they left to return home, Aunt Janice urged us to visit them.

For the next 15 years, my wife (Sherrill) and I would travel to San Diego a couple of times a year to visit Aunt Janice and Uncle Norman. We would always enjoy a night or two at the casinos, and then delight in the wonderful hospitality always extended in their home. Over these years the food she would prepare, and the stories she would share, always made me feel as if I was back in my Mother's home.

The love Aunt Janice shared was endless, and Sherrill and I will be forever grateful for time we had with her.

Gene and I are devastated to learn of Janice's passing. I know she recently had a close call but always hoped for a full recovery.
Norm and Jan were two of our closest friends. We golfed together, partied together and loved together. When I think of Jan, I think laughter, compassion and love. A wonderful cook, a fabulous hostess a great Mom and Grandma.
She will be greatly missed. We're sending blessings to the family and will keep y'all close to our hearts and in our prayers.
