Patsy Sue Estes

Patsy Sue Estes was born on October 28, 1936, in Menard, Texas to her father Richard “Sug” Wyatt and her mother Jewel Wyatt. She had three siblings: Jimmy, Betsy and Brenda. Patsy was very proud to be the daughter of the Sheriff of Menard County.

She was raised and schooled in Holtville, California. She married Jimmie Estes on March 5, 1955. They lived in El Centro, San Diego, and lastly Encinitas in 1967. They raised four children: Tacie, Daniel, and twins Patricia and Pamela. Upon Jimmie’s passing on September 7,2021, they had been married for 66 years.

Patsy worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Bonanza T.V., in Pacific Beach and Cardiff by the Sea from 1963 to 1978 and worked alongside her husband in their businesses Estes Pumpkin Patch and Estes Christmas Trees. She was a meticulous homemaker and loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend.

Patsy is preceded in death by daughter Tacie Morrison and husband Jimmie Estes. She leaves behind three children, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 16, at El Camino Mortuary, 340 Melrose Ave, Encinitas 92024 at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr. San Diego 92122.
