Frank A. Maren went peacefully to the Lord on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Born November 5, 1927 Frank hailed from Joliet, IL and was the seventh child of eight siblings. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores “Mickey” Galvin, their four daughters, Kimberly Mack (Tom), Pamela Maren, Debbie Mahle (Denny), and Janel Grossheim (John), his loving sister Leona Molaschi, and several nieces and nephews. Lovingly known as “Bumpy,” Frank was a cherished grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Michael Mack (Ale’), Maren Babcock (Philip), Melissa Mack, Meghan Mack, Pamela Mahle, Dr. Paul Mahle, Christina Alegado (Alan), Nick Mahle, Patrick Grossheim, Peter Grossheim, and Conor Grossheim; great-grandfather to one great-grandson, James Babcock and one great-granddaughter baby “Hershey.” Frank enjoyed a successful minor league baseball career as a pitcher with a “major-league fastball,” was an avid golfer, enthusiastic ham radio operator, and fixer of all things. He enjoyed being a lifelong learner always seeking out opportunities for his family that were educational, educational, ed-U-cational! Most of all, he modeled a deep devotion to Christ and his Catholic faith to his family and the world.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice, FL with internment following at Gulf Pines Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that mass intentions be offered or donations be made to Tidewell Hospice.
