SCHERMAN, Betty J. 78 of Englewood, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at home. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years Frank Scherman in 2012 and her mother Celeste Fannie Howard Jones. Betty leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and one son-in-law April Donaldson, Melodye and Jeff Webb, Dan Durst whom she loved as a son, four grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffany and Chad Thompson, Joseph and Jennifer Knostman, Emily and Paul King, Nathan "Buster" and Yurie Knostman. Also surviving are 9 great-grandchildren Bryce and Brady Thompson, Rosie, Anna and Emma Knostman, Gracey and Paul Jr. King, Owen and Stella Knostman, one brother and sister-in-law Ben and Christy Jones, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Terry and Trudy Scherman. Betty was a 1957 graduate of Fairmont High School, was a dedicated domestic engineer, she delivered the Dayton Daily News for 25+ years, loved to garage sale, coached little league girls softball and made it to the State Championship game in 1976. Most of all she loved her children, grand and great-grandchildren and they all they've accomplished, they were and are her world. There will be a Memorial Service at the HOFFMAN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 201 South Main Street, West Milton, Ohio on Sunday, February 4, 2018 starting at 1:30 pm, followed by a Celebration of Betty's life with Pastor Robbie Scott presiding. Her favorite bible verse which she lived by: Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me".
