

BURKHART, Virginia Alice 91 formerly of Dayton, passed away peacefully Monday, April 6, 2015 in Greensboro, NC. Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years Paul J. Burkhart in 1981, a grandson Andrew J. Burkhart, her parents Henry and Maggie (nee Campbell) Nickell, sisters Thelma Dickson, Georgia Harl, brothers Claude and Winfred Nickell and two infant brothers Courtney and Cyrus Doyle Nickell. She leaves to cherish her memory, son and daughter-in-law Larry J. and Yiming of Carmel, IN, daughter and son-in-law Carole L. and Carl Goldschmidt of Greensboro, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren and their spouses, Douglas Smith, Jamie (Heather) Smith, Angela (Josh) Jeffers, Cara (Jeremy) Campbell; great-grandchildren Gerald, James and Chelsea Smith and Chance and Calla Campbell. Virginia and Paul enjoyed going back to her home place in Kentucky and also Friday night auctions looking for antiques. Her family always came first and she was a friend to many. Her talents included china painting and cross stitch. Virginia enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles and TV game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. There will be a graveside service for Virginia at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek, OH, Saturday May 9, 2015 at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road.
