Patsy Ruth Gutierrez

Patsy was born August 15, 1928 in Independence, Kansas to Jesse and Mary Bathke. She moved to Needles when she was 13 years old and graduated from Needles High School in 1945. She married James Louis Gutierrez and they had three daughters, Patty, Sandra and Jeanie. The family moved to Fontana, California in 1958. Patsy worked at a variety of occupations, retiring from San Bernardino Public Library after a 20 year career which included driving the bookmobile. Upon retiring, Patsy and Jimmy moved to Marvel, Colorado where they enjoyed a rustic rural life filled with fun, friends and good food cooked on an old fashioned cook stove. In the late 1980's they moved back to the Needles area and enjoyed being back around the extended family once again. Patsy moved to Barstow, California upon the death of her husband of over 50 years and spent the last years of her life helping her children and grandchildren.

This dear lady was proceeded in death by her daughter, Patty, who passed away in 2010.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanie Gonzales and Sandra Jensen (husband Eric). She had 8 grandchilden and eleven great grandchildren, including the most recent granddaughter born just weeks before Patsy passed away. Patsy is also survived by a host of family and friends. She loved all of her grandchildren and was interested in all they did and accomplished. She was a wonderful, kind, supportive mother and grandmother and she will be sorely missed by all. We love you, Mom.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Light of the Valley Lutheran Church, 28330 Lilac Rd, Valley Center, CA 92082.
