

Albert G. “Al” Qualls, 90, of Evansville, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016, at Heritage Nursing Home. He was born June 18, 1926, in Bisbee, AZ, to the late James William Jasper and Thula (Bailey) Qualls.
Following his graduation from Bosse High School, he proudly served in the Army Air Corp in the Asian Pacific during WWII. Albert retired from Whirlpool in 1988 as Coordinator of Fire Prevention and Safety after 33 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Berean Bible Church. He sang in the Whirlpool Corral and his ministry in music in the church began in his teenage years. He was a member of Lessing Masonic Lodge #464, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1972. He was past president of the Past Masters Club and was a member of the Sword of Bunker Hill, Order Eastern Star #555 and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 71 years, Dorothy C. Qualls, on December 18, 2015; and sister, Sharon O’Dell.
He is survived by his sons, Larry and Kenny (Tammy) Qualls; daughter, Patty Qualls; grandchildren, Scott (Kenya) Qualls, Chad (Kristi) Qualls, Seth Qualls (Caitlin Purkhiser) of Tampa, FL, Russell (Brooklyn) Qualls, Andrea (Ethan) Broerman of Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX, and Angela Qualls; great-grandchildren, Evan, Kate, Dylan, Jillian, and Lenorah; sister-in-law, Carolyn Sue (Ron) Ham; and 9 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor David Siegmann, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
