He retired from Bristol Myers. Every Sunday he played cards with his Sunday Buddies.

Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; sons, Curtis and John Garrett; daughter, Jenny Garrett; two brothers; and a sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Beth Muensterman; grandchildren, Laura, Misty, Amanda, Mary and Malinda; ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Alexander West Chapel.
