

Alice was one of six children, four older and one younger, and the last surviving. She grew up on the family farm and attended Armstrong Township School and then went on to graduate from Reitz High School, where she was FHA (Future Homemakers of America) President, in 1953. She also enjoyed attending Reitz football and basketball games with her cousin, June (Schmidt) Spillman. Alice worked at Lancaster Insurance Agency until she started her family. Alice and Shelby were married on August 9, 1958 at Salem Church of Darmstadt where she was a lifetime member and also baptized and confirmed.
She was very active in church and served as treasurer of the Women’s Guild for over 30 years, was church historian, and taught Sunday School for many years. Alice also served as a 4-H leader when her daughter was young. She enjoyed playing cards, board games and dominoes. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, working outside, and maintaining their home. Alice was an amazing cook and took pride in passing on her knowledge to her children and grandchildren. Alice and her husband, Shelby, enjoyed traveling together and took trips all throughout the U.S. and National Parks and also took a trip to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Alice enjoyed attending the various activities of her grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Aleen Ballard, Arvin Mann, Martha Sander, Ruth Volle, and Richard Mann.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Shelby; children, Julie Titzer (Randy), Michael Lynn (Marcia), and Mark Lynn (Dixie); grandchildren, Jamie Lupfer (Aaron), Kelsey Blankenberger (Jace), Maria Ripple (Aaron), Audrey Creel (Sam), Ethan Lynn, and Andrew Lynn; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Peterson, with burial to follow in Salem Church of Darmstadt Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be viewable via livestream at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA.
