Anna “Merle” Taylor Benjamin passed away Friday, August 14th 2015 at Golden Living Center Woodlands in Newburgh, Indiana. Born and raised in Dixon, Kentucky, she grew up on a farm where she enjoyed time with family, horseback riding and making friends in school, at Free Union Baptist Church, and throughout the community.
Anna Merle married Bernard “Ben” Benjamin of Providence, Kentucky on June 26, 1957, and three years later they welcomed a daughter, Stephanie. The Benjamins moved to Evansville, IN in 1964 where Ben taught at Castle High School and the family was active in Oakhill Baptist Church. Merle’s proudest professional achievement was the earning of Real Estate and Insurance licenses, but her greatest loves in life were her family and her friends. She loved life and sharing laughter with others along the way. She was deeply loved and is sorely missed.
