Barbara Ann Becker

Barbara Ann Becker, 67, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation. She was born July 21, 1947 to Joyce (Strupp) and Fred Jeude. Barbara graduated from Reitz High School in 1965 and attended Lockyear School of Business. She worked for Brill Media as a secretary until leaving to be a stay-at-home mom, like she had always dreamed she would do. She married the love of her life, the late Anthony Becker, in 1989. Barbara was passionate about nursing home advocacy and made it her life’s work to help protect and advocate for nursing home residents and their families, including testifying before Congress. She is survived by a daughter, Lori (Brad) Gonyer, brother, Donald Jeude, and her only grandchild, Emma Gonyer, all of Evansville, as well as many cousins and dear friends. Thank you to Dr. David Harris, the staff at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation, and the staff of Southern Care Hospice who all helped to make her last months as pleasant and easy as possible. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Alexander North Chapel, with Deacon Ed Wilkerson officiating. Friends may visit Wednesday 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
