

Also preceding her in death were her husband, John Bollinger, and later, Robert Lewis; brothers, Roy (Lambert), Roscoe, James Robert (Bob), Richard (Pete) and Allen Young and grandson, Troy Bollinger.
Bernice was a member of Grace Baptist Church until 1965 and member of Keck Avenue Baptist Church since then. She retired from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation in 1977 and was an avid homemaker. Bernice enjoyed cooking and gardening and was known to always have a craft or two in progress and on display. She enjoyed camping and traveling.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby John (Joyce) and Donald (Jan); grandchildren, Judy (Jim) Basham, Dan, Greg (Brittany) and Andrea (Brandon) Bollinger; great-grandchildren, Steven (Dawn) Stuart, Brandi (Jeremy) Clifford, Emma and Breanna Bollinger; great-great grandson, Haeden Stuart; her brother, Carl D. Young; her sister-in-law, Bertha (Minster) Young; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Heritage Center and Heritage Hospice for their care and support.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 20, 2013, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd, officiated by Rev. Tom Hubachek, Chaplain at Heritage Hospice, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday, 4-8 PM, and 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
