Carolyn was born August 25, 1951 in Evansville to the late Robert Powell and Mae (Hall) Powell. She operated an in home daycare for 33 years and was affectionately known by all of the children in her care as Susie. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing and playing bingo.
Surviving Carolyn are her daughter, Robyn Rentchler (Lance); granddaughters, Haley Grubbs and Madison Grubbs (Josh Leslie); brothers, Robert Powell (Connie), Larry Powell ; sister, Darlene Heil; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Tungate and Rebecca Diamond.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James Orman and a sister, Jeanette Shockley.
A private burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
