Carolyn Pfender

She went to St. Boniface grade school and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, KY. From there she entered the Ursuline Sisters Louisville Order in the convent where she worked at an orphanage. Carolyn then went on to work at Deaconess as a nurses’ aide.

She married Keith Pfender on September 7, 1968 and became a homemaker.

Carolyn was an animal lover and enjoyed traveling and cooking. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Keith in 2002.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Pfender) Roberts and Alan Pfender; grandchildren, Michael and Aaron Roberts and brothers, Louis and Michael Hildenbrand.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 Stockwell Rd, Evansville, IN 47715, officiated by Father Zach Etienne with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery. Friends visited Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel and Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at the church.
