He retired from the US Navy after 20 years as a meteorologist. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Moose Lodge, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Am Vets, and attended Christian Fellowship church.
Clarence was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Boswell; brother, Robert Boswell; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Donna J. Boswell; daughters, Vanessa Messer (Mike), Elecia Boswell and Juanita Halter, all of Auburndale, FL; step-daughters, Ginger Fuchs (Robert) of Boonville, IN and Dawn Michel (Duane) of Ft. Branch, IN; step-son, Wes Nicholson (Elizabeth) of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jonathon), Stephanie (Dalton), Micah (Justin), Verdell, Tanya, Cody, Jason (Robin), Shalyn (Allan), Daric (Lauren), Whitney, Nick, Austin, Noah, Melissa (Erik), Cory (Lauren), Brandon (Lexi), Riley and Jansen; and sisters, Karen Lyday and Sally Lisenby.
Funeral services were held 6:00 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ted W. Groves, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Auburndale, FL. Friends visited Wednesday from 2:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
