He retired as a Captain from the Evansville Fire Department after 32 years. He enjoyed four-wheeling in the Rocky Mountains, woodworking and gardening.
David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sylvia Bassemier; son, Brett Bozarth of Evansville; daughter, Krista Lea (Barry) Mead of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Lyle David Bozarth and Rachel L. and Drew J. Mead; brothers, Joe (Mary Lee), John (Diane), Edgar (Joan) and Edwin (Carolyn) Bassemier; sister, Mary Anne (Mike) Bassemier; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 13, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Sister Jenny Miller and the Evansville Fire Department Honor Guard. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
