

David was born in Evansville, IN on May 13, 1941 to the late Rueben E and Frances E (Wicks) Seifert. He attended Perry Heights and graduated from FJ Reitz High School in 1959. In December of 1959 he joined the Army where he did basic training at Ft. Benning, GA. He was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany during the Berlin Crisis until he came home in 1962.
David was an electrician with the IBEW Local 16 until his retirement in 2004. As a member of the union he held the titles of Treasurer and President.
On October 6, 1962 he married his high school sweetheart Nina Seifert. They were married 53 years before she preceded him in death in November 2015. David was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie in 1978 and Gilbert in 2021.
David and his wife Nina were foster parents for five children, three of which they adopted. David leaves to cherish his three children Frances Kay Seifert of Evansville, IN; Michael David (Gina) Seifert of Oak Ridge, TN; and Christopher Ray Seifert of Mt. Vernon, IN; Four grandchildren Samm Seifert, Skyler Seifert, David (Sidney) Seifert, and Breonna Seifert; two great grandchildren Amilia and Ember; 1 sister in law Nancy Johnson, 1 brother in law Tom Frankenberger, nieces Becca, Julia, and Terri, nephews, Doug, and Wayne, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN Pastor Rhonda Marshall officiating followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Park with full Military Rites. Family and friends may visit Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
