Diane (Denning) Stanley, 58, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Linda E. White Hospice House. She ascended into heaven to joyfully be united with her beloved twin babies, Hans and Gretchen. That moment we truly felt joy and peace for her.
She was born to Frank and Pauline Denning of Mt. Vernon, IN on December 18, 1964. She was raised on a big farm along with eight brothers and sisters. Diane loved and was so proud of her large family. She was a typical country girl. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. Nic and Diane were not only a special, loving couple, but also worked alongside each other for close to thirty years at Red Spot Paints.
A cause very close to Diane’s heart was being the liaison for the Foreign Exchange Student Program. She and Nic hosted many exchange students. They kept in close contact with many of them over the years. They were so honored to be invited to meet some of their families in their homeland.
Diane was a wonderful cook. She was known in her family for her delicious chocolate pies. It was the first pie gone at family gatherings. Diane’s favorite leisure activity was playing tennis. She would play every day if possible. Nic and Diane had many close tennis friends. She also had a love of horses. She enjoyed going to Ellis Park race track to watch them run.
If you knew Nic and Diane, you knew very quickly their loving fondness for their Shih Tzu’s, Heidi, Daisy and Bo. They also loved their kitty, Lilly.
Diane is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Nic; her mother; sisters, Patty, Rosemary, Becky and Jennifer and their spouses; brothers, Paul, David, Bernie and Steve and their spouses; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vic and Lori Stanley; sister-in-laws, Nettie Stanley and Doris Buecher; and her large, extended family of aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many co-workers and tennis friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank; precious twin babies, Hans and Gretchen; in-laws, Gene and Virginia Stanley; and brothers-in-law, Rick Stanley and Tim Buecher.
