My deepest condolences to Doug, Marianne, Bob, Tyler, Phillip, Doris, and Jim.  The loss of Donald will always be felt.

The depth of my love for Donald and Karleen is one that defied logic.  They were my godparents, but their love for me never stopped.  Long after their commitment of seeing I was raised in the church and receive communion was completed; their love stayed ever present.  The bond I felt with them from childhood never faded. 

I have random thoughts of joyful moments crossing my mind of my times spent with him.   The taste of fried potatoes he made for me in a skillet with bacon grease on an island in the Ohio during a camping trip.  Being picked up by boat in Howell during high water and transported back the island of land that was the front yard on Old Henderson Road.  The cold water he kept for us workers in a cooler aboard the detasseling machine. Watching him ride a minibike, his compressed body hid mostly by his legs. 

I am glad to have enjoyed so many wonderful days with Donald and Karleen growing up.  I feel even more blessed I have the pictures to reminisce and share.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all and hope to see you in the near future.


Doug and MaryAnn:  Your Dad was one of the finest people I ever knew.  Always friendly, everybody in Union Township thought the world of him.  He will be missed.

To the whole family, you are in our thoughts during this difficult time. Donald was a constant positive presence in our lives and will be greatly missed. Through the years, we could count on Donald to lend a hand, give his signature wave, keep it cool and even rescue his friends stranded in flood waters (check out this picture). If his life was a western, he would definitely be the man wearing the white hat—he was one of the best!  Sending our love. Thank you for sharing all of the wonderful photos of Donald.

We always enjoyed talking to Donald through the years whenever we would see him.   He was always smiling and friendly.

Doug;  I am so sorry that you and your family have had to bear the loss of your father at this difficult time.  I'm thankful that I got to know your parents through the "C" company group.  My husband and I were never involved in a nicer group of people.  We greatly enjoyed the reunions, picnics, parties, etc.  After the loss of my husband, the luncheons at the Canton became a special time when I could still feel a part of the group. DONALD LINDENBERG WAS ONE OF THE FINEST MEN I EVER KNEW. HARD WORKING, UNSELFISH, SINCERE, CARING. WE WERE NEVER REAL CLOSE FRIENDS OTHER THAN SOCIALLY THROUGH ST PAUL'S CHURCH SCHOOL, FAMILY FELLOWSHIP, AND COMMITTEES WE WORKED ON TOGETHER. I KNEW HIM AS A FARMER FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. ALWAYS STRAIGHT FORWARD IN DEALING AND TRUSTWORTHY. A REALLY GOOD CLABBER PLAYER.

I remember attending birthday parties down in the country and playing in the yard. The folks playing clabber too. My thoughts are with you all Doug and Mouse and may your memories bring you joy.


I spent a lot of summers on the detassler that Donald would drive. Lots of good memories with some great people. My deepest sympathy Mouse and Doug.

I have known Donald and Karleen since I was a little kid sneaking out of bed to go get a snack when Mom and Dad were hosting their card club. And then working with Donald in construction. He was always such a joy to have on the job! Condolences to all his family and friends.
