Dorothy Mae Carver

Dorothy Mae Carver, 82, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Linda White Hospice House. She was born June 6, 1935, in Evansville, IN, to the late Carl and Bessie Schmitt. Dorothy loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, cake decorating and painting. She spent her life as a homemaker raising her family and enjoyed every minute of time with them all. She later worked for Gertha’s Nursing Home and Goodwill Industries. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gerald Carver and John Carver; daughters, Patricia Fox; and Pamela Matthews; and sister, Helen Winstead. Dorothy is survived by her sons, James Carver, Jr. (Merla) and Jeff Carver (Tess), daughter, Christine Garrett (Lonnie); 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Schmitt (Charlotte); and sister, Mary Ann Baker. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 16, 2018, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive. Friends visited Friday from 1:00 PM until service time at the chapel.
